Italy - Venice

the story continues again...

6 hours + - journey to venice, by train :D
a long long journey
but everything went smoothly
we see snow on the way to Venice
but it getting lesser and lesser as we approaching Venice
maybe our train happened to pass by the hillside
which is much higher places
colder, and got snow~ gua...

the sky is getting dark as we arrived
so freaking cold
much colder than I had experience in Rome
but somehow I manage to bare with it

Venice, a.k.a 海城? water city ha..XD
boats are 'buses' and 'taxis' for the local people here~
interesting rite? omoshiroi desu~
waterboats a.k.a. vaporetto
can u imagine, in KL, or any other place
son or daughter will says to parents

"papa/mama, i want to buy a car..."

but in Venice, it will be...

"papa/mama, i want to buy a boat..."

:P

we went to the tourist information center to find out
our hotel whereabouts
bought ticket for waterboat
and head for the hotel
the sky was dark and so cold that time

we were holding big luggages..
and walking along the street
baring with the cold weather
running nose...damn it~

we couldnt find it!!
arrrr, GG~
the island is like a giant MAZE!!!
u will noe wat i mean if u click on the link
we were so scared to enter the maze
and worrying that we will got lost in there
'lorong' everywer and so dark and creepy inside...

policeman help us with direction
but it din help much coz he was unsure as well
the shop lot numbers in tat area are jumble up
and is really confusing
looking at shop lot numbers and search accordingly wouldnt work

been searching hotel for about half an hour plus? again?
notice quite a lot China people working as part time here...
and of course we take this opportunity to as for direction as well
but we still fail to find the hotel...
lucky to have this very kind man, walking a dog
helped us to call to the hotel receptionist
and the hotel receptionist came by to fetch us

the hotel receptionist is a very nice guy as well
a very friendly guy,
speaks not bad English
we even ask him to recommend us the famous tourist spot in Venice
he was willing to help us with any problem

after done checking in...
we headed out for dinner - pizza again lolx
we went to the pizza shop managed by china people
they were about the age as us i think
maybe slightly elder than us
went there to "bong chan" them
to thank them for helping us earlier :P

like wat we did for ROME,
we explore a lil in Rome on the day we reach at night..
and we want to explore a lil at VENICE too
went to the Piazza San Marco
a.k.a San Marco Square?
because the Chinese call it as San MARCO 广场~ :P

we werent able to take any picture tat night
because it was too cold!!
I was unable to hold the camera still
feel pain on my hands
and it is quite difficut to take photo with gloves on
we just took a short walk at the 'piazza' and
decided to head straight back to hotel

the next morning,
the friendly hotel guy prepare us breakfast
is the same bread we had in Rome earlier~ O.O
croissant bread
I guess that is very famous in Itally
and we had some cereals as well

and then, we start visiting~

Venice>>water city>>SEA!~
I guess that explains what we saw when we head out
rising tide in the morning?
flood at most of places
not able to take much nice photos as well
went for a walk at Piazza San Marco again to “compensate” for last night :P

then we went to the famous Murano Island
as it was strongly recommended by the hotel guy
Murano Island a.k.a Island of Glass
where u can see a lots of stuffs like THIS
and a lots more cute n pretty stuffs made from glass
but mostly were too expensive for me to afford :(

went to the glass museum,
but ppl like us without the "cells of art" in our body
not really know how to enjoy the masterpieces
and glass artwork in the museum
a bit too ordinary
it wasnt what i was expecting..

went back to hotel for lunch and recharging~
and had lunch at the chinese restaurant name "海城"
because the tauke helped us with direction as well last night :P
ate mihun kuey teow and fried rice~ O.O
a meal with less flour..lolx taste good~

next we went to Rialto Bridge a~

no doubt it was a pretty and romantic place for couples
:P

went to visit shops nearby the bridge
interesting souvenirs are found
mask for theater, snowglobes, murano glasses etc etc
but those are pricey and quite big in size
dont think i can get it :(

we went to a restaurant
quite high class restaurant
jz to test the spaghetti in Italy :D
and we already expect it to be expensive
by looking at the way the waiters serve us
- cuttlefish spaghetti
- spaghetti carbonara
- lagsane + grilled salmon + gelato (set)
tat was our dinner for tat night~
49.6 euro~ O.O

and when we leaving
there's a friendly waiter approach us and say
"arigatou arigatou" O.O
i tin u noe what i mean de la ho? XD
we explained..and then we had small chat vf him
he says the tv weather forecast says that
tomorrow is going to snow!~ O.O woo~
tat's great to hear~ :D

The next morning,
is the 1st time in my life...i see snow...

hm..a bit different than i expected..
but this is something that I wanted to see since i was a kid!!

when i was 4~5 years old..i watch a movie, is snowing in the movie..i wonder
y msia no snow..was thinking mb when it snow..i wasnt noticing!! so..
i actually..went open the umbrealla..put it upside down..waiting for snowing..
and even if i din notice...the snow can be stack up in the umbreala =.="

alrite..tat's a childish thought from me last time.. :P

snow melted so fast..within 1~2 seconds and its gone..
didnt see the 'snow flake' shape.. :(

tat morning..blackout in the hotel... :(
bad day..got a bad feeling with it..
as we leaving for milan..
the tide is rising..and the water flooded
till the front door of the hotel!!
water level = 0.5 m plus minus? got gua..
the mr nice guy hotel receptionist
provide us plastic bag and wrap it around our legs :D

gave 10euro as tips to him for being such helpful and nice guy~

three of us shared tat..

as we heading out for the train station...
is getting to snow heavier...
and is windy..plus the tide is rising..(flood)
all of us..holding heavy big luggage..
trying not to let the luggage got wet..
helding it as high as possible.. :(
walking on the "spare small lil bridge" prepared by local people

they tend to put rows of tables-like thingy along the road to prepare for the
tide every morning..smart~

but the table/bridge is quite shaky...
plus slippery - snow..and our shoe doesnt hv good grip..
wrapped up vf plastic bag dy..remember?
and were panicking the train will leave without us..
somehow..we made it to the station safely..
and the train got delayed too due to snow :D

Italy - Rome

the story continues...

arriving rome....
it was a not bad flight,
just 2 hours + - journey
and Europe time is one hour faster than UK

the journey had started
we pass through the custom
claimed our luggage
and got on to bus
manage to reach our hotel in city, near colloseum :D

we had hard time looking for hotel
based on the 'not so specific' map we printed out
and the address

asking the possible pedestrians that know the whereabouts
finally we found it
and we din notice we were circle-ing around the hotel
as we asking and walking with the heavy luggages
zzzz....
it took us half and hour plus

checking into the hotel takes time
so me n mun went to the nearest restaurant to grab some food

well, I guess in Itally
u cant run away from flour can u? XD
the 1st meal we had was pizza~
two quite big pizza costs us about 16 euro? if not mistaken
and some mineral water as well
from the words on the fridge while I taking the water bottle
I learn that piccolo = small, grandi = big
tat's in italian

forgot to share this vf u al when skyping this afternoon(uk),,BBT gang XD

after checked,
went to colloseum for some photo shooting
it was a cold night for me
but both other gurls seem to be fine
ish, feel so useless to be a guy, damn it
but I cant help with myself, I just feel cold
and went back hotel to grab my jacket
then continue to explore the surrounding area

and the forum romanum was a fantastic!
somehow it reminds me of the dinosaur age or
something long long time ago in ancient time
and the childhood game that i used to play
"Hercule"
a very good symbolic sightseeing spot in Rome
although it was just a few "tiang" standing there lolx

after exploring for about an hour plus time
we went back to hotel and rest...

The next morning,
breakfasts were served by the hotel
croissant bread is the common bread that they will normally serve
it wasnt a pleasant morning because
i got up, with stomachache, damn it
as we head out of the hotel

we saw A spartan warrior!!
I feel like killing him when I recall this incident
spartan :"hello, good morning, photo photo??!"
running out from a restaurant as we passed by
My first thought was,
[are all italian ppl this friendly?]
early in the morning, such frenly ppl
asking us to hv photo with him~
and I said okay then
mana tau....after *ka cha--*kacha---
spartan:"20 euro please"

I become speechless...damn him...20 euro for a lesson...
I wished I had really cut him with the sword he gave me..grrr

and we head for the places that we had explored last night
to have photo shooting in daytime..^__^
and then head to the colloseum~ O.O
tv program 冒险王 host by 明道..went to the colloseum as well
12 euros per entrance, and so
we spend very long time took photo n video in there
coz 12 euros are quite expensive!
quite excited that, I actually had chance
to step into this archeological monument
I google-ed it, and it says that it was built 2000 years ago!!
in the colloseum...
warriors against warriors, warriors against animals/beast i guess?
and it's a bit creepy when at night...
you can hear warrior shouting, screaming if u listen carefully~~
yeerrrr~~nah..i just made tat up..lolx
and at the gate of colloseum,
so many spartan waiting to take photo.zzz
ignore ignore~

after colloseum, we had our lunch at the restaurant nearby as well
we had crepe, smth like this...
it was quite filling though it looks so thin...
we ordered 3 and costs us 19 euros..omg~
and, tat's another meal (flour) for us..keke
this remind me of the incident while ordering...
we dont know which flavour are nice
and were asking the waitress to intro/recommend us
apprently she dont quite understand us
and it seems that we caused her trouble
that the bigger boss came around and explain which flavour are which
but the bigger boss dont understand what we want oso!! =.="
and yet he act so cool like he know...
we end up choose 3 cincaily, pay money n cabut...

after lunch,
we head for the Trevi Fountain
where ppl make wishes ^__^
as expected, the place was flooded with tourist and local ppl
and we seen some local ppl holding flowers and
so willing to 'borrow' it to tourist for photo shooting
based on experience we learn this morning
we knew what will happen next after the photo taken

ngek ngek ngek..XD too bad for them...

next stop, St. Peter Basillica...
it was known as the smallest country in the world~
we din know that when we visiting the place, only found out about it afterward...
梵蒂冈 is wat we called it in chinese...
a very nice building...is pretty huge inside
and is like a giant church~
feels calm in there, so peaceful, but so serious

as the day getting darker,
we head back to Trevi Fountain, night view~
hm hm..pretty and nice...
we made our wishes beyond the fountain ^__^

I think I made my wished in English or Mandarin,
can 'he/she' understand? or should I wish in Italian? XD

but BUT!! after i googled it,
"hold a coin, stand and face ur back to the fountain, make a wish, throw the coin backwards over your left shoulder into the fountain and ur wish would come true~"
I realized that I thrown the coin with my right hand instead of left =.="
wonder if it still works... haiz...

and we had GELATO at the fountain before we head to next stop
varieties of ice cream, can see it anywer in Itally
it will be great if we came at summer
although is winter now but we still insist to get a taste of it

shhh, tiger dun tell dad about me eating this...

next...
we head to Spanish Steps
meet an old couple, Ah gong and Ah Ma,
apparently old ppl here mostly dont speak english
but they are so friendly, so willing to help us with direction
and we were trying hard to understand
as he point point,
swing swing his hand,
and speaking in Itallian..=.="
and the ah gong was long sighted,
he need to wear TWO specs
when we show him the map..lolx

somehow we manage to get there...
Spanish Steps...
wikipedia says, 138 steps, longest and widest stairway in Europe
information reliable? critical thinking about tat la..AIC students..lolx
blek :P
looks quite ordinary, but is one of the tourist spot...
photos..and cabut...

back to hotel and call it a day...^__^

next morning, breakfast by hotel,
is the same thing~
same breakfast...
and my stomach is the same...=.="
y y, morning stomachache..zzz

after breakfast,
checked out,
get to the train station,
and head for next stop, Venice - water city~ ^_^

Italy 2009 - beginning

heehee, it gonna be a very long post..
so i guess i will separate it into parts
jz like tv show
episodes

it was suppose to be a 5 ppl's trip,
but it end up becoming a 三人游～ O.O

A,B,C,D and E are planing to go for italy~
yay~

but E went back to msia due to some urgent reason i guess..
and F were asked to joined...

and then...it becomes..

A,B,C,D and F are heading to italy 2mr~
yay~ so excited...

but sudden change,
B got urgent stuffs nid to take care of too..
went back to msia..
and as for A, the bf of B
gotta follow back as well
in order to help B~

and it ended become...

C,D and F going for italy tomorrow~
omg~~ kan cheong kan cheong kan cheong!!!!

A was the leader and planner
and now that they had lost the 'head'
what are they gonna do?

at this time, F was thinking
"mb we wont make it le, 算了吧"

mb D was thinking the same too..

but C, feels upset and a bit pissed off...
why A suddenly leave them jz like tat

and C unofficially took over the role as leader

together C,D and F
spent their only one night time,
to go and research
wat and wer was italy
mana itu hotel
mana nak pergi sightseeing
this that this that this that
and they were worried that they couldnt make it on time

C,D and F's frens are worried as well
ppl who planned to go for italy
usually nid few days or week time to research
but wat they got? 1 night oni?!

and they manage to done it
Cincai-ly...
they did not realised that
none of 'em speak at least 5% of itallian
but F went and googled out
and F oni understand,
big, small, thank you and bye bye~
and non of 'em could swim
and they dare to take this challenge from god...
and F, at the same time
feels tat the oni guy, need to be useful enough
but the guy feels that himself is useless
and not being too helpful to the others
and worrying at the same time
although he did not show it on his face

so, 3 of 'em...
start their adventurous journey to italy...
